By using the www.alentejosurfcamp.com and buying our services or booking accommodation you accept Terms & Conditions below if you have not informed us to the contrary
Information on this site is subject to change without prior notice at any time and you should therefore visit www.alentejosurfcamp.com regularly to view recent changes.
Continued use of our websites signify that you agree to any such changes.
Please note that some Accommodations and Activities are presented but not carried out by the Alentejo Surf School & Camp, different terms may apply to these Accommodations and Activities.
BOOKINGS

Bookings can be made through our direct booking widget found on our website, by e-mail or by phone. If booking by email, please include all necessary details for us to ensure maximum efficiency. We will confirm your booking within one business day.
For group bookings, we require a minimum 4 weeks advance notice, prior to arrival and a confirmed name list must be sent by this date.
Bookings our Partner’s Accommodations or Extra Activities should be done, confirmed, paid, changed or cancelled according to their Terms & Conditions. The Alentejo Surf School & Camp are not responsible for the quality of the services of our Partners.
TERMS OF PAYMENT

Individual policy for all Surf Camp & Surf School Packages and Accommodation:
To confirm the booking the deposit of 30% of the total price should be done by credit / debit card while booking through the website and by PAYPAL or Bank Transfer while booking by e-mail or by phone. The remaining balance will be payable upon check-in with either cash or by PAYPAL or Bank Transfer.
The refund of the deposit can be done only according to our Cancellation policy. The refund will be done by PAYPAL or Bank Transfer.
Group policy for all Surf Camp & Surf School Packages and Accommodation (6+):
The deposit of 50% should be done at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. Full payment must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to arrival, or upon confirmation if booked within 4 weeks of arrival. In the circumstances that a payment is delayed, The Alentejo Surf School & Camp reserves the right to cancel the booking and withdraw its confirmation of the booking.
All payments should be done in cash, by PAYPAL or Bank Transfer - we are not accepting credit / debit cards. Cash is preferably accepted at check-in for the remaining balance. Cheques are not accepted.
CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES

1 MONTH IN ADVANCE:
If you decide to cancel your booking within 1 month in advance, we will refund your deposit payment, so there is no penalty for you.
2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE:
If you decide to cancel your booking within 2 weeks in advance, you will have a penalty of 30% of the package you booked for.
LESS THAN 2 WEEKS:
Cancelling your booking within 2 weeks, you will have a penalty of 75% of the package you booked for.
LESS THAN ONE WEEK:
Cancelling your booking within 1 week, you will have a penalty of 100% of the package you booked for.
In the event of a “No-Show“ your reservation will be cancelled automatically and you will be charged the full booking amount.
There are no refunds offered when requesting an earlier check-out date after you have already checked-in.
There are no refunds on any unused activities that are included in your package. Injury or sickness are the responsibility of each guest and their own travel insurance.

FORCE MAJEURE

We cannot accept any liability where the booking could not be fulfilled due to circumstances which we could not, even with due care, have foreseen or avoided. Such events may include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, civil commotion or strife, hostilities, natural disaster, fire, act of god, terrorist activities, technical problems with transportation, flight cancellations, closures of airports, ports and/or ferries, quarantine, epidemics, weather conditions, government action or other events outside our control.
OTHER

The Alentejo Surf School & Camp reserves the right to modify its rates for economic purposes, such as fluctuations in currency, inflation, or an increase in supplier costs. Any changes in rates will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed by The Alentejo Surf School & Camp. In the event that The Alentejo Surf School & Camp, under exceptional circumstances, is unable to provide the guest with the agreed rooms on arrival, The Alentejo Surf School & Camp will provide a room of equal or superior quality at no extra charge. This shall be done with the permission of the guest.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT

Earliest check-in time: 16:00 pm
Latest check-out time: 11:00 am
** Please note check-ins are not accepted after 22:00 without prior notice either by email or phone call.
PERSONAL PROPERTY

It remains the guest's responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. The Alentejo Surf School & Camp accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused.
AGE RESTRICTION
-
Bookings usually cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 16. However, under special request we may be able to accommodate children depending on the season and our camp occupancy. Children under 16 may only sleep in the same room as the parent and can only be in private room accommodation.
SURF LESSONS
-
The no-show to a booked Surf Lesson will be charged.
The Surf Lessons schedule is done by the Surf School and it's not flexible to the student's availability.
Due to safety concerns, unfavourable weather conditions, or any other reason, The Alentejo Surf School & Camp may reschedule or cancel any surf lesson without giving advance notice to the student.
Where lessons are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or for safety reasons at the sole discretion of the surf school, the customer shall not be entitled to a refund for the cost of the lesson, however The Alentejo Surf School & Camp will use reasonable endeavours to provide theory lessons and/or other activities at the location in substitution for the cancelled lesson(s).
In order to take advantage of the best conditions, all Surf School & Camp Packages with 2 lessons per day can have 1 big lesson (+/- 4h) instead of 2 lessons.
The Alentejo Surf School & Camp reserve the right to photograph/videography our guests during the surf lessons. By taking part in a lesson and/or being at the location, the client gives their full consent to such photographs/videos being taken. The client agrees that The Alentejo Surf School & Camp may use such photographs/videos for commercial, publicity and advertising purposes. The client acknowledges that they have no right to any payment or fees in respect of any photographs/videos sold.
SURF EQUIPMENT

If the client wishes to use the surf equipment, they must provide The Alentejo Surf School & Camp with a signed personal waiver form available from reception declaring they have understood the terms of rental, damage and personal liability.
The Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was when the client received it and to the satisfaction of the Alentejo Surf School & Camp management and/or the staff. Where the management and/or the staff are unsatisfied with the condition of the returned surf equipment by the client, the client shall on request and in any event before their check-out date be deemed responsible for the cost incurred for any necessary repairs.
The Alentejo Surf School & Camp and/or the staff shall accept no responsibility for loss, damage or harm caused to the client, other persons, any property or the like as a result of the client’s use of the equipment and/or personal Items, unless such loss, damage or harm was caused by the negligence of the The Alentejo Surf School & Camp and/or the staff. The Alentejo Surf School & Camp and/or the staff shall accept no liability for the loss, damage or theft of any Personal Items.
GUEST BEHAVIOR

The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to The Alentejo Surf School & Camp. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests or any staff - will be requested to leave the Surf House premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manner and follow local laws. Failure of any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group and loss of deposits.
SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside our building, bedrooms or shared rooms. We do however provide our guests with the exclusive use of our outdoor areas, where smoking is permitted and ash trays are provided. Any guest found smoking within the building or common inside lounge areas will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund.
PETS

We love pets, but due to the communal atmosphere they cannot be allowed at our Surf House.
DISCRETION
-
All bookings are subject to availability and The Alentejo Surf School & Camp reserves the right to decline or cancel any booking at its discretion.
